Microminerals

Microscopes reveal an amazing variety of colour, shape and form of minerals not obvious to the naked eye

About the Micromineral Group

Looking at minerals under a microscope often reveals crystals and mineral associations that cannot be appreciated with the naked eye or a hand lens. Many specimens are stunningly beautiful. The Society has a very active micromineral group which meets on a weekend day each month, and has spare microscopes that can be used. There are always a number of free specimens to share, and it is easy to start building a collection.
