From the thrill of your first specimen to getting that mineral you have sought all your life, collecting can be fascinating for young and old. One may appreciate the beautiful shapes, colours and forms, study their structure and chemistry or just revel in the excitement in unearthing your own finds. By preserving specimens, our members are also contributing to the mineral heritage of our country.
Our Society’s activities provide many opportunities to acquire minerals through field trips, member’s auctions, charity sales, the micromineral group, and in particular our grand Christmas swap and sell.
