August Meeting

The August Meeting is the Society’s ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING and will be held on Friday the 2nd of August 2024 at 7.30 p.m. in the clubrooms of the Parramatta and Holroyd Lapidary Club at 73 Fullagar Road, Wentworthville.

The A.G.M. will present the President’s report for 2023/2024, the Treasurer’s report and presentation of the Annual Financial Accounts for 2023/2024 and the election of the Society Committee and office-bearers for 2024/2025.

In accordance with the Society Constitution the entire current Committee retires at the commencement of the A.G.M. and all positions are open for nomination and election. Nomination forms for election to the 2024/2025 Committee were circulated with the July Newsletter. The Constitution stipulates that nomination forms should be received by the Secretary up to seven days before the commencement of the A.G.M.

During the A.G.M. members will be asked to approve acceptance of the Annual Financial Report. As an incorporated body the Society is required to submit a statutory declaration to the Department of Fair Trading each year within a month of the A.G.M. A small lodgment fee is levied which would increase slightly if the declaration was held back for a further month. The declaration has to provide a few details about the current state of the Society such as the membership number, total turnover for the previous financial year, total assets after current liabilities and that the Financial Report was presented to and approved by the membership at the Annual General Meeting.

After the Reports and Election Any Other Business may also be raised and discussed.
